Norwegian
chemical society's
division of chemometrics
- The chemometric group of the Norwegian chemical
society was funded in 1989 by some creative and foresighted, young
scientists.
- The purpose of the group is to strengthen the
chemometric role in teaching, research and industry. In 1999 the
number of members reached 300.
- In 2009 they celebrated their 20th anniversary,
appointing two new honorary members, Bruce Kowalski and Olav H.J.
Christie. The number of honorary members is now 6, S. Wold, H.
Martens, O.M. Kvalheim, T. Næs and the newcommers. This
mean everlasting honour.
- The group arranges annually the Norwegian Chemometric
Symposium with participants from research institutes, schools
and various industry such as:
- Petrochemical
- Chemical
- Pharmaceutical
- Food
- Aquaculture
